End-Grain Cutting Boards
I made a few end-grain cutting boards as gifts using scrap hardwood I collected over the course of a year working at the UW-Stout process lab. Most of the walnut came from some firewood I dried and milled into usable lumber.
The black walnut as I received it. Too bad the person that gave it to me cut it into firewood sized pieces...
Cut into smaller pieces to dry.
Because all that I had to work with was short scraps, the glued up pieces had to be glued to runners so I would be able to safely run them through the planer.
Worked nicely.
